I keep putting off posting this one because I want to add more pictures, but I just can't seem to get it done. Everyday Anna is doing something new so I could just go on and on. So for now...
We can hardly believe that 1/2 of year has already passed us by since baby Anna was born. She has been such a joy to have in our family!! At her 6-month appointment she weighed in and 17lbs and 9oz. She measured 27.25 inches. She is still bigger than the average baby her age by a long shot, but she slowed down a tiny bit. She is wearing mostly 9-month clothes, but I still squeeze her into some 6-month stuff because I just can't accept that she is growing up so fast. I didn't post last month so here are some of the fun things about Anna at 5 and 6 months old:
-Anna began sitting up independently right around 5 months
-She has spent the last month sitting and playing with her toys in her free time. I was starting to worry that she was never down rolling around, but in the last week or two she has started rolling, scooting and trying to get up on her hands and knees. She is a busy bee.
-She has the best laugh. It is hard to tell if she is laughing or trying not to cry.
-She has two little teeth on the bottom-so cute!
-Her smile is the most beautiful bright smile you can imagine. She wakes with a smile and goes to bed with a smile. She makes everyone happy.
-She still loves to watch Allie and AJ and especially loves AJ. He can always get a smile and a laugh from her.
-She is obsessed with faces. She likes to grab, smack and scratch any face she can get her hands on.
-She is curious about everything. She loves to play with her toys, tries to get my phone and puts everything in her mouth.
-Anna quickly mastered eating solid foods and is eating food twice a day already. So far she has been eating primarily rice cereal and has also tried green beans, peas, squash, sweet potatoes, pears and prunes.
-She is still not great with the car seat. I rarely leave her in it anymore because she doesn't like it, plus she is too heavy to lug around in that thing.
-Poor baby has been sick twice between 5 and 6 months. First she got the croup and then she got bronchiolitis.
-She continues to suck her thumb, but really only when she is going to sleep or if she is desperately hungry and I am making her wait.
-She started shaking her head "no".
-Babbles and sometimes sounds like she is saying "mama". Its kind of like, "mum-mum-ma".
-Screams and squeals to express her happiness. We love it.
-Just started clapping.
-Loves to grab onto things and pull them over; especially her toy basket.
-Here beautiful eyes get everyone's attention! She is such a gorgeous girl!!
Allie and AJ are doing well also. I took them in for their 3-year well visit and they both weighed about 34.5 lbs and Allie is still an inch taller than AJ. They are so smart and funny. 3 is a fun age. Lately, they have turned into a couple chatter boxes. Some days they just go on and on with random talk or questions. It is so fun to hear, but it can be exhausting.
Some of my favorite things they have said lately are:
AJ-Playing soccer, "I kicked it in the nut!!" He means net.
Often times he will say something to me and then say, "Mom you know thats right."
The other night when we were getting ready for bed, Allie and AJ were in the bathroom and Allie touched the toilet water. I was laying Anna down and heard AJ say, "Allie, how many times does daddy have to tell you not to do that??!!" then he proceeded to come out and say, "Mommy, Allie touched the potty water." We were laughing so hard.
This nurse lady gave both kids their own mini bottle of hand sanitizer so he always asks to wash his hands with his "hand maxitizer."
Allie-"Last day..." meaning "Yesterday..." or "The other day..."
If you say something she doesn't believe she says, "Your just kidding."
We have started this bad habit of letting the kids climb in our bed in the morning and watch a cartoon or two while we get going for the day. Lately, AJ has started bringing his own pillow and all the stuffed animals he can carry to our bed every morning. Sometimes Allie will do this too. On any given morning we could have 5 people, 6 pillows, 8-10 stuffed animals and a cat on our bed.
